    bloggity blog blog

Monday, June 4, 2007, 11:50 AM CST [General]

Well, this might be the last blog I write before we leave for PSG in less than 2 weeks, so I just thought I'd give an update.

We've been spending most of our free time planning for PSG, packing for PSG, and shopping for PSG.  It's funny how everything starts to add up.  Our camp this year is going to be awesome.  We bought a 10x10 sun/rain shade  just to hang out under, as a lounging area, which will be separate from the kitchen tent.  We are camping with our friends the "Chaos Fae," which consist of River and Beryl, they'll be bringing the kitchen tent, and two other tents, one for sleeping, and one for gear storage, lol.  Dan and i will be bringing our sleeping tent and the hangout tent.  We are well-stocked for the annual sacrifice of the peeps ritual, 4 packages of sacrificial marshellowy-ness. :D

I have been considering participating in The Sacred Hunt ritual as a hunter but I cannot make up my mind.  I feel like if i don't do it, again, later in the year I will regret it, again, thinking that somehow if I just do it, my winter-time blues will not be so very specific as they have been for the past 2 years.  There's some emotional baggage there and I keep thinking that if I Hunt, I will be more prepared to deal with it, or it won't even arise again.  But on the other hand, I think to myself, PSG is about enjoying myself and having a fun time with friends, not about dealing with emotional baggage and going through something that seems to me like it would be very traumatic and it would drag up a lot of those old feelings and rage that could potentially make my entire week at PSG a misery.  I guess I wish I had someone who has Hunted to talk to.  I've villaged for it before, so I know what it's all about, what to expect and the like.  I don't know if I want to give up the time for the whole Hunter aspect of the Hunt, it would probably become what PSG is all about this year, if I do it.  Maybe I will talk to River about it when we get to PSG. :P

Tomorrow I get my last paycheck before we leave for PSG, and I am hoping for some major moola, because I am cutting it close with my bills for the whole month of June.  I work part time(ish) making only $9/hour and I am paying the entire month's bills from 2 paychecks.  I had to budget that very carefully.  On the plus side, Dan remembered that he had totally forgotten about his refund check from taxes.  He got like $330 back, and the check was sitting at the post office, waiting for him.  So we got it, and cashed it yesterday.  That means he will be living off that money until his next paycheck, which is going to be entirely for PSG.  That's like $750! :)  WOOT

Anyways, I have to be at work in an hour and I am still in my PJs. :)

If I don't write again, have a good Solstice everybody!

without dreams, we fall apart at the seams.

"um, can we talk about this?" She asked her boyfriend, voice heated with shock and anger.  She was at the sleepy, small town's surprisingly busy market, shopping for donuts, when she ran into her boyfriend, who was at the store with another girl.  Of course, there's no donuts in the whole damn store but what the heck was this?  They had a shopping cart filled with household items, including feminine products that a girl does not buy with her boyfriend present unless they have been dating a very long time.  "who's this?" the other girl, who was a little chubbier and more prim and proper than the donut-shopping girlfriend.  "who's this? no, i don't think so, honey, you better give us a minute here, who's this.  WHO'S THAT?" She asked, getting a little confrontation-oriented.  The boyfriend was trying to separate the two, preventing further provokation or either one, and the other girl disappeared down the other isle.  Although he spoke no words, She was so incensed that She had to storm off and get Her head back on Her shoulders before She approached them again, when they were at the checkout.

As She walked up to them, She noticed that other girl's femine products wre labeled embarassingly, "mega pads," insinuating that they were for "bigger" girls.  She thought this was hilarious, and started riping them out of their package and throwing them at her boyfriend and his supposed new girlfriend.  Well, second girlfriend didn't think this was very amusing, and lunged at Her.  Big mistake.  She went into defensive mode as the girl came at her in a very stereotypical girl-fight manner, probably reaching out to pull some hair.  She grabbed the advancing girl and threw her to the gound without much effort, using the girls weight against her.  She swiftly pinned the girl to the ground with her left foot, and looked around to see everyone's reaction.

Instead of the stunned silence and fear that usually follows any act of violence, all of the men in the crowd were acting perfectly normally, but all the girls started coming towards Her to attack her.  "Great," She thought, and defended herself against the first wave of women trying to grab at her, punch her, restrain her.  She backed up out of the checkout lane, blocking their advances, as they came at her one at a time or two at a time.  It was like a martial arts movie, only Her opponents did not last very long.  Most of them were taken down after their first advance.  But eventually She had to think about trying to get away.  She had been backed up to the backof the store when something hopeful happened.  Another girl appeared from the crowd, a familiar face.  A High School friend.  "Erika!" She shouted "Good!" and Erika stood next to Her, facing the crowd of angry women.  Erika then hugged the girl exactly opposite, and turned to join the attack against Her.  "Oh god damnit," She swore, and landed a punch directly in Erika's face before she could defend herself.  Now She really needed to get out of here.  There was a door that led into what appeared to be the back room behind the freezers that are generally at the back of grocery stores.  She ran for it, thinking there must be a back exit for deliveries.

As She passed through the flapping doors She had a moment of disorientation, this was not what She expected, this wasn't a dark, cement-floored, pallet-stacked back room.  Instead it was another market, this one smaller, more convienence-store sized.  A moment of clarity as She remembered that there was another section to the grocery store that was being built as an addition, and the two male employees that had stopped stocking the shelves looked up at Her in surprise.  She saw the door and booked it, but as soon as She had taken Her first three steps, all of Her muscles froze up and a very strange, loud, painful feeling swept over Her.  She instantly knew She had walked into a room that was being blasted with supersonic sound waves.  The harder She tried to move forward, the harder it was for Her to jam her fingers into her ears, and all She could do was scream for a second.... one of the men ran over to a corner and jumped up on top of a stool and flipped a switch that was way up high, like a security camera.  The feeling stopped, and She knew her had shut off the sound emitter.  "JESUS CHRIST," She yelled, and they rushed over to Her, lookin panicked.  "I have to get out of here," She said to them, but they stopped Her before she could get away.  They were grabbing things from the coolers, and stuffing them into a sack and chasing Her out the store, and She took the bag from them, just as She took off into the nighttime air, flying easily high above the store and over a hill into the residential area of the town.  Though it was easy for Her to take off and fly away, soon she tired and realized that the supersonic waves had done more damage to her than she could heal right away.  She looked at the sack the men had given her and began to descend towards the sidewalk.  She touched down and opened the bag to see what was inside.  To Her disgust, it was filled with raw meats, chicken and beef and steak, and some broccoli.  Gross, She thought.  She reached for the broccoli that was furthest from the meat, and broke off a little piece.  She sniffed it and it smelled fine, and thought to Herself, those men seemed genuinely concerned, maybe this broccoli will heal the damage she sustained.   So she kept walking and took a small bite of the broccoli.  As soon as at it touched Her tongue, all of her muscles went weak and she almost collapsed at the knees.  "Motherfucker!" She said out loud, spitting out the broccoli.  Immediately knew She had to hide, they were probably following Her.  Her muscles weak and Her legs noodly, She headed between of some houses and found a shack-like garage with no sides, just a cover and some old broken stuff that provided enough cover, She had to settle, She was starting to fall down.  She laid down and took Her piece of broccoli in one hand and threw the rest away from her as far as She could, and was comfortable in Her hiding spot that they would not find her.  She knew the broccoli was healing,  but they wouldn't make it sedating if they weren't going to try to find and capture Her, probably expecting Her to be passed out on the street somewhere.  Her head resting on the hard earth, She ate the rest of the broccoli and immediately fell into a deep, healing sleep.

The next thing She knew, She was in the same spot, a few hours later, with another business-looking woman crouching near her, reporting something into the blue glow of a lighted-screen display of a cell phone/walkie.  She laid perfectly still, eyes open just slits, not enough to alert the woman to her conciousness, and listened.  The woman was inspecting Her, reporting the condition of Her physical body, "Everything seems to have taken fine, nothing broken, subject however has a prosthetic foot, which should not hinder..."  After a moment She realized that this was not Her body.  As she regained her strength moment by moment, she regained her always defiant nature, always fighting and struggling to get away... The woman began to notice that Her muscles were tensing up and She was stirring a little.  Just as She was about to leap into action, everything went black.
